We appreciate the quality of this unit and the InSinkErator brand. Our previous unit lasted well over 20 years. However, we were very frustrated with the time and effort it took to install this replacement. Due to limited space installation took an extra 2-3 hours of an already lengthy job. The connection tubing on the dispenser was way too short because we could not mount the heating unit directly under the faucet as shown in the directions. Of course there was no way to know any of this beforehand. So we had to figure out a solution and acquire extra tubing in order to even use the unit. Another frustration was that we did not want a unit which included a filter but had no other choices that would work with the InSinkErator faucet model we purchased. One feature that is a nice addition is the ability to adjust the water temperature. We would recommend this brand but would warn others about these limitations.
Like it but a bit hard to install
Went through 3 units before the water temperature was to manufactures specifications 160F - 210F. They did warranty their product with any issues and the repair service made two visits until the 3rd unit worked according to manufacture. Excellent repair service/warranty.
Changing out 6 yo unit because of tank failure. Trying to install when I realized they changed tubing from 1/4 to 3/8". Why??? Bought this because I wanted a simple change out, really not the best unit, they seem to fail right after the warranty expires.This will be my last one. Very dissatisfied.
No delay, boiling hot, works very well
Easy to install, most difficult part was finding the cold water adapter supply T. It's noisy when heating, at temp mid point setting, it runs for 2 minutes every 50 minutes due to standby heat loss. Needs better insulation. Recommend due to install ease. Would seriously consider tankless design when this fails.
This unit was purchased to replace my 7 year old InSinkErator which developed a leak in the tank. Not only did the manufacturers change pipe sizes which greatly complicated the install but since I was using an existing faucet the install was delayed 3 weeks because the unit does not come with a required fitting that is only provided "free" when you buy the faucet. The extra $9 wasn't the problem - the time and delay and nickel & diming me for a few extra $$ was the problem.
