We bought a house 3 years ago that already had a sump pump installed. The house is now 7 years old and the current sump pump is still working just fine. I wanted a spare just in case the old one quit during some heavy rains. So I wrote down the name and model of the old one and bought the identical make and model for a spare. The old one works great now and should it ever fail I want to put the same model back in. Don't mess with success.
