Finish: Brushed NickelBought this to compensate for a Jacuzzi brand shower valve that wasn't deep enough in the wall. Glad Moen makes this! Although the colors aren't an exact match ( this brushed nickel extension has a more gold tint compared to Jacuzzi plate), it's not that noticeable and a lot cheaper than re-plumbing the valve.
The rough-in plumber did not use the Moen spacer to set the valve depth, leaving it too close to the wall. This went unnoticed until after the wall was tiled and the final assembly was attempted. The handle stuck WAY too far into the shower, looking awkward. We were about to tear through a closet wall to get to the improperly mounted valve, but a quick call to the Moen help line revealed this gem of a part, saving the day.
I needed this part to fill in the handle gap on my Moen bathtub faucet. The company realizes that it is a problem and does not include the part in the package for the handle which is already pricey. So I sucked it up and purchased the piece in order to keep my beautiful new bathroom from looking tacky.
This is used to reduce the unsightly gap between the handle and escutcheon cover due to improper valve installation depth.Faucet Depot is by far the cheapest source of this, but it's almost laughable how much this part costs considering what it is.
Solved the problem I had with an incorrectly placed shower valve.
