I have a 10-year old Price Pfister bath/shower fixture (801) that started leaking over the winter. Installing an entirely new fixture would have both been difficult and expensive, requiring a plumber, so I chose to repair and rebuild it myself. However, I looked around the internet but had difficulty in finding the correct parts for the now-discontinued fixture. Those replacement parts that I did find that might work looked like cheap Chinese-made junk. However, when I found the Faucet Depot website, I was thrilled to discover that this firm carried high quality OEM parts for my Price Pfister fixture at very reasonable prices. I was also impressed by the friendliness and helpfulness of the customer service staff, who reviewed the original parts diagram I had saved and confirmed that the parts I was ordering were correct. The items arrived in only two or three days. Great service! Thank you for saving me big $$$$$$$!
It was a perfect replacement for my original units, however the shape and design is different. I'm sure it saves them money to make but it's not as nice to install. With the hex at the bottom you need a big socket or access to the back side of the unit to tighten it, and even then it's long enough a deep socket still let the stem stick out the drive hole so I couldn't use the ratchet to tighten it. The old style was longer with the hex near the stem end so it stuck out of the hole in the wall and could be removed or tightened with a wrench easily. It works perfectly fine, just not as easy to install.There are no instructions, so it took me a bit to figure out that you have to remove and reverse the little white plastic stop for one of the two units to get it to operate in reverse.
The merchandise received was the real thing. A Pfister valve stem of high quality and not junk from the big box stores. Also FaucetDepot is a very professional co to buy from. Many status E-mails that made me feel confident that my order did not go into cyber space. Also it was shipped quickly and without damage.
Like most all ceramic faucets, once installed, they seem to never leak. The authentic Price Pfister ceramic valve retrofits are significantly superior to the knock-offs. Some knock-off look alikes have leaked around the stem if everything is not just "right." The plastic shaft of a competitor's product busted perhaps when tenant used too much force when turning off the water. When installing, pipe dope, in addition to teflon tape, should be used on the threads to preclude a leak from shower back pressure. When installing, be prepared to replace the seat of the valve with an authentic Price-Pfister seat; if the existing seat is too high, the valve will be hard to turn ON and OFF. Alternatively, shim the valve by adding a thin 7/8th inch fiber spacer washer.

Little different from original (which is probably 12 years old), but worked perfectly versus the aftermarket junk I picked up at the local plumbing store that was missing components.
I've retrofitted 14 old-style washer valves with pf ceramic valves. I ended up scrapping slightly less expensive "knock off" valves from two other manufacturers. One mfg's products leaked around the stem. The plastic shell on another mfg's product was too difficult to tighten down because it lacked the ridges on the pf product. See photo. It is essential that #5 pipe dope be used on the threads if leaks are to be avoided as the threads on the ceramic valves are cut uniformly, like a machine screws, rather than being tappered like a typical pipe thread. Replacement valve must be screwed in tight if it is not to leak into the wall when the water is sent up to the shower head. The retrofits are installed without removing the seat for the old style washer valve. It is best to have on hand 7/8" ID fiber washers to use as shims, or an assortment of seats, to get the right fit when the valve is fastened tightly in place. If the valve seat is higher than pf's spec, it will be hard to turn the valve unless ceramic valve is shimmed by the corresponding amount. If the valve seat is low than pf's spec, perhaps because polishing was done to remove a rought spot, there may be inadequate pressure to keep the two ceramic discs firmly placed against one another; the result is slow drip. In about half of the installations, the valve had to be shimmed or cranked in real hard to get the proper fit, but once installed .. NO LEAKS. At this point in time, I have several valves that have been in service for nearly a year without problems.

I was glad to see that I received a genuine Pfister item. Some sellers advertise that you are getting a real factory replacement, then send you a cheap knock off.
